1. General
These Terms and Conditions are designed to ensure a clear understanding between the client and Lucy’s Web Designs regarding the web design and development process, helping maintain progress and achieve realistic completion timescales.
2. Design Process
The concept design phase consists of up to three stages:
- Initial concept design
- Second concept based on client feedback
- Final minor amendments
If the client is not satisfied after the second concept, only minor amendments will be made. Any significant design or structural changes requested after approval of the design phase may:
- Delay project completion
- Incur additional charges
3. Content Provision
All written content and images must be supplied by the client in digital format.
- Content must not be supplied via post or physical photographs (unless agreed in advance).
- If content writing or sourcing is required, additional charges will apply.
Delays in providing content may affect project timelines.
4. Images & Media Responsibility
- The client is fully responsible for ensuring they have the legal rights to use all images, text, and media supplied.
- Lucy’s Web Designs accepts no liability for copyright infringement relating to client-provided materials.
- Any image editing or graphic alterations requested will incur additional costs.
- If no ongoing maintenance agreement is in place, all media (including images) becomes the client’s responsibility once the website is live.
5. Project Completion & Approval
A website is considered complete once:
- The design and build are finished
- The client provides written (email) approval
- Final payment has been received
After the website goes live, any further changes will be treated as a new request and may incur additional charges.
6. Testing & Compatibility
Websites will be tested on current versions of major browsers including:
- Chrome
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge / Internet Explorer equivalent
7. Hosting & Launch
- The designer will advise on suitable hosting and can assist with setup.
- The website will only go live once full payment has been received.
8. Maintenance & Ongoing Support
- Clients may choose to maintain their website independently or request ongoing support for an additional fee.
- Any future updates, fixes, or issues after project completion will incur charges unless covered by a maintenance agreement.
9. Timeframes & Delays
Project timelines depend on:
- Timely content delivery from the client
- Prompt approvals at each stage
If the client fails to provide required materials within 6 months, Lucy’s Web Designs reserves the right to:
- Close the project
- Invoice for work completed to date
If a project exceeds 3 months due to client delay, the outstanding balance may be requested.
10. Payment Terms
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins
- The remaining balance is due upon completion
If final payment is not received within 14 days of invoice:
- Lucy’s Web Designs reserves the right to suspend or remove the website
11. Intellectual Property
- All code created remains the intellectual property of Lucy Hall
- Design frameworks and purchased assets may be reused for other clients
- Client-provided materials will never be reused
12. Liability
- Any changes made to the website after completion are at the client’s own risk
- Contact forms and website functionality are the client’s responsibility once the site is live (unless under maintenance agreement)
13. Data Protection
Lucy’s Web Designs does not share personal data with third parties. Any information submitted via contact forms is securely stored and used only for agreed purposes.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By approving the project and/or making payment against any invoice, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Cancellation clause
If the client cancels the project after work has commenced, all payments made are non-refundable and any additional work completed will be invoiced.
